I thought that today would be a good day to try and get my blog going….again. I’m 39 today and I’m truly very excited entering into the last year of my 30’s. I look forward to turning 40 next year. The past decade has been such a huge opportunity of growth and maturity for me. So much has happened. Divorced. Remarried. Master’s degree. Landed dream job. Fired from dream job (ahem, ***voluntarily resigned***). Lost my Dad suddenly. Bought a house. Adopted a puppy. Started a business. I’m sure there’s more, but those are the biggest highlights that I have listed in my mind recently as I’ve thought about the past 9 years.
It’s been full to say the least. But I have come to learn in the past year that all of these experiences were meant for me. They were meant to happen when they did. I’m grateful for the experiences, good and bad. My step-dad has told me numerous times in the past couple of years that “no experience is ever wasted”. One caveat to that is that it is not wasted if you are able to realize the worth of said experience.
I’m not really sure what this blog is going to be about. It’s funny, I’m a much planned, detail-oriented, Type-A person. But when it comes to things like blogging, where you’re supposed to have a plan, a backlog of things to write about, it feels so inorganic to me. I’m going to write when the mood strikes. I have some ideas about topics I’d like to write about, but no detailed written plan.
I can tell you I’m not blogging to make money off the blog. Do I hope that we’ll connect and you’ll feel compelled to head to my shop and maybe make a purchase? Absolutely. But I don’t want you to visit my blog and find it full of affiliate links and ads. That’s not to say I have negative feelings toward those that do such a thing. It’s just not what I want for my blog. Of course, if that ever changes, I’ll let you know.
Today I’ll be spending time with my husband and dog, working on my Etsy shop, doing some reading and relaxing before heading out with friends later.
I’m also celebrating with my customers by having a sale today. Head over to my Etsy shop and save 15% off your purchase of $14.99 or more. No coupon code is necessary.
